Bridgetown International University, School of Medicine (BIU) is a well-recognized and one of the fastest-growing private medical universities situated in Bridgetown, which is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the capital city of Barbados, a Caribbean English-speaking island country in North America.
The University was established in 2016 with a mission to provide quality and affordable medical education to aspiring doctors, add more physicians to the healthcare ecosystem of the world, and contribute to the betterment of health for all.

Currently, the University offers a 5-Year MD Program based on the US-medical curriculum to the medical aspirants worldwide, at affordable fees. Fees structure of the BIU MD Program is one of the lowest in the entire North America region while the quality of education is in conformity with the world-class standards. BIU MD Program strictly adheres to the requirements of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), a mandatory licensing examination required to get qualified to get a license for medical practice in the US.
The entire medical program can be completed in four or five years, depending on the level of qualification of the applicant. Students who hold graduation in medical science are directly admitted to the 4-Year MD Program while students who wish to pursue MD Program right after their 12th Class Examinations are admitted to 5-Year MD Program which includes 1-Year Pre-Medical Program. The entire medical course is taught in the English language and is well-recognized in countries worldwide.
To ensure that students get the best possible medical education in Barbados, the University follows a pragmatic approach to medical education, where books and classrooms are just one aspect of the whole program. While students study medicine in Barbados, they are involved with medical outreach programs, research projects, seminars, medical exhibitions, group discussions, and offered opportunities for International Clinical Rotations. To make this possible, BIU Campus located in Bridgetown is equipped with the necessary modern facilities required to deliver the finest possible medical education in Barbados. The Campus is equipped with a library, medical laboratories, and classrooms with modern aids of teaching.
In the Campus, all the students are provided with the University managed facility for accommodation and food.
