21st and 22nd November 2023, the Rector of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM), Stalbek M. Akhunbaev, participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled «Reforms in Training Personnel with Secondary Medical and Pharmaceutical Education in the Kyrgyz Republic: A Decisive Step from Initial Experience to the Future.» The conference was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Bishkek medical college named after Akmatkan Moldogaziev.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, deputies of the parliament (Jogorku Kenesh), ministries, departments of the Kyrgyz Republic, deputies of the Bishkek City Council, directors of the National Statistical Committee, as well as experienced experts and scientists from Russia, Japan, Germany, the USA, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

During this international-level scientific conference, Dr. Brigitta Skela Savic, an international expert of the «MER» project on nursing education reform from Slovenia, Director of the Volga Branch of the Volgograd Medical College, O.V. Dushkin (Russia), Director of the multi-profile AVIMED College, E.T. Tezekbayeva (Kazakhstan), and Director of the Republican Medical College, Shahlo A. (Tajikistan), highly appreciated the college’s activities and expressed their wishes. Certified teachers from local higher educational institutions presented reports on the training of nurses in the education sector.

On the second day of the conference, a jubilee volleyball Spartakiad among medical colleges of the Republic titled «Cup of the Association of Medical Colleges of Kyrgyzstan-2023» took place.
