Nooruz celebration at the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM)
Today, the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) celebrated Nooruz (21st March), the day of the vernal equinox, that marks the beginning of a new year.
Nooruz is a holiday that unites not only departments and students of the IHSM, but also people of Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 into a large family and friendly circle.
From March 21, the days begin to lengthen and the nights shorten. It is this period that is considered to be the new year, the beginning of the season of growth and prosperity. ✨
Its main symbol is the traditional dish sumolok, which is believed that gives people a special vitality and energy and is celebrated with concerts, including performances with traditional Komuz players, folk dances, and nomad games.
Nooruz is celebrated by more than 20 peoples and nationalities around the world. These are Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Northern India, Macedonia, Turkey and others.
On September 30, 2009, Nooruz was included by UNESCO in the list of non-material cultural heritage of mankind, since that time March 21 has been declared as the International Day of Nooruz.
The administration of the IHSM congratulates you on the spring New Year's holiday of the equinox.
