Hackathon event was held aimed at developing the state language
On February 15-16, 2024, a hackathon event was held at the Zhusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, which was aimed at developing the state language. The event was opened by the rector of the Kyrgyz National University, Abdyrakhmanov Tolobek Abylovich. The event began with an opening speech and wishes success for the event by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baisalov Edil Zholdubaevich, Chairman of the National Commission on State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Osmonaliev Kanybek Osmonalievich, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Kendirbaeva Dogdurkul Sharsheevna, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Tagaev Marat Tolomushevich, director of ULUT Soft LLC Okenov Mirbek Turdubekovich. From the International Higher School of Medicine, the event was attended by expert linguist of the state language department Galieva Diana Akylbekovna.
The main goal and objective of the event were:
- Organizing a hackathon on machine learning, text-to-speech conversion service for students and professionals;
- Creation of an educational, design and communication forum aimed at solving current problems in the field of neural networks;
- Identification of professional development teams that have developed promising design solutions in the areas of the hackathon.
- Development of such qualities of students as ingenuity, creativity and activity, as well as the development of scientific horizons, artistic and aesthetic abilities aimed at the development of the state language.
The event was held online and offline. Over the course of two days, all hackathon participants worked in teams, using their knowledge and skills to create innovative projects aimed at improving teaching methods, expanding the linguistic resource and drawing attention to the importance of preserving and developing language. 25 teams from 12 universities in Kyrgyzstan took part in the software development forum. The total number of participants is 165. During the event there were interesting discussions and lectures. The final stage of the hackathon involved the teams presenting their projects to a jury, which assessed them on various criteria such as originality, practicality and potential impact on the educational community.
Overall, the Hackathon was a unique opportunity for participants to show their creativity and contribute to the development of the state language.
