International School of Medicine has specifically designed for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students to get the experience of practice in medicine at the clinical bases of International School of Medicine (ISM) in Kyrgyzstan. 

Program of an elective course in medicine is conducted on the base of ISM clinical departments which are mostly located in different state hospitals, polyclinics, and other medical settings.

During the elective course, the visiting student will be placed into the environment a medical organization which provides medical services to the wide range of the population of KR.

Kyrgyz Republic is one of 15 former USSR republics, which inherited Soviet system of health care. At the same time during the process of transition to the market economy health care system of the country significantly changed.

Currently, local doctors due to above-mentioned facts provide medical service in the conditions of limited resources. This can give a visiting student a unique experience of developing country medicine, which will allow her/him to apply this experience in the future professional life.

At the beginning of internship, the visiting student and his mentoring professor make a plan of internship which is supposed to cover areas of particular interest of the student.

Terms:

1. Students have to apply for clinical training for at least 2 months before the proposed training period.
2. Due to limited capacity, students are strongly advised to send their application as early as possible.
3. Duration: Normally between four to eight weeks in any subject or area can be extended.
4. Accommodation: Students are helped to find their own accommodation.
5. Expenses: Students are expected to be responsible for their own expenses on accommodation, subsistence and travel.

7. In case of enrollment the applicant must submit following documents:

1. one passport-size photograph;
2. passport copy;
3. a curriculum vitae;
4. copy of an official transcript of academic record;
5. an original true copy of a letter of recommendation from the Dean of the applicant's medical school.
6. Applications will not be finally processed until the abovementioned items have ALL been received.

1. Photocopy of travel document containing personal particulars, date of issue, date of expiry and/or details of any re-entry visa held (if applicable);
2. A letter of acceptance from our University;
