Festival of Kyrgyz songs performed by foreign students in Osh, Kyrgyzstan
II republican international festival “Kyrgyz songs performed by foreign students” was organized by Osh State University and held in the Osh National Drama Theater.
The festival was dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of state language law of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The idea to organize this festival was initiated by the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) to the National Commission for State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2021, and was held in Bishkek organized by the IHSM. The main goal of the festival was to promote the state language and strengthen inter-ethnic relations.
This year, the event was attended by Kanybek Osmonaliev - Head of the National Commission for State Language and Language Policy, Gulnara Ibraimova - Head of the State Language Development Sector of the Ministry of Education and Science, Saltanat Abdyldaeva - Consultant to the Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic and Rectors of higher educational institutions.
Vice-rector for scientific affairs and state language of the IHSM - Orozaly J. Uzakov, Vice-Dean and Supervisor of the cultural and musical group “Sensation” - Zhypara K. Mukambetova, Head of the state language department - Rima Zh. Zayirkulova, Lecturer of the Issyk-Kul Campus, Humanities Department - Burul Zhumabekova attended the festival.
Foreign students of 8 Higher Educational Institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic participated in the festival. As a result, the students of the IHSM took the 1st place and were awarded a diploma and a cash prize of 50,000 som.
Orozaly J. Uzakov, one of the authors of the international festival “Kyrgyz songs performed by foreign students”, and other honored guests of the festival passed the cup for holding the next festival to Vice-Rector of the Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev.
