Online Conference DERECKA
International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) took part in the online conference "Development of PhD Doctoral Programs in the Kyrgyz Republic: results and challenges", organized by the Kyrgyz State Technical Universitynamed (KSTU) after I. Razzakov, within the framework of the project "Development of PhD doctoral studies and research potential of scientists in Kyrgyzstan (DERECKA)", funded by the European Union program "Erasmus +", which took place on April 21, 2021.
The purpose of the conference was to strengthen research and innovation potential in Kyrgyzstan by promoting the PhD system and to develop measures for further cooperation between interested parties, improving the content and quality of doctoral programs in Kyrgyzstan.
The conference participants were greeted by: Beishenaliev Almazbek Beishenalievich - Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Chynybaev Mirlan Koichubekovich - Rector of KSTU, Dr. Rolf Peter - Head of the Project "Professional Education in Central Asia" (PECA), Philipp Pohlenz, Professor of the University of Magdeburg, GIZ expert (Magdeburg, Germany).
During the conference, the following issues were discussed:
- Organization of the activities of universities, government agencies and other participants in the development of the PhD system in the Kyrgyz Republic;
- The results of the work performed on the development of the PhD system: the achieved results, difficulties, strengths and weaknesses of the process, lessons learned in the piloting process: the results of the experimental PhD programs implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the National Office of Erasmus +, initiatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic for the development of legislation (Regulation on PhD, minimum requirements for accredited PhD programs, etc.), activities of the GIZ program, the DERECKA project, etc.);
- Necessary activities and conditions for the further implementation and improvement of the quality of PhD programs in accordance with the socio-economic needs of interested parties.
