My name is Dr. Aamir Rasheed, a graduate of 2013 from the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM). I am completing my post-graduation training at the University of McGill Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics department- residing in Montreal, Canada.
My journey to success started with a small dream of becoming a good health care professional. I was born and raised in Pakistan, where I completed my high school and college certifications. Afterward, I got admission to IHSM in Kyrgyzstan and completed my MD, and returned back to my country.
I worked as a medical officer in different hospitals and had eager to pursue my PG studies. So, I set my goal and worked hard, and passed the Canadian qualifying exams MCCEE, MCCEEQ1, and MCCEEQ2 successfully.
Currently, I am completing my training in Radiation oncology along with Diagnostic imaging (MRI and CT). In the pandemic of COVID-19, I served voluntarily at Saint-Justin hospital Montreal regardless of specialty.
In addition, my message to current and future students is work and work hard until you get success. IHSM is the best platform to groom yourself and plan for a better future. I still remember my good old days in Bishkek, where I had a really amazing and blasting time with my friends and tremendous teachers. Kyrgyz food, culture, and weather, everything was so amazing. So, set a goal, and devote yourself to get it in every possible way no matter how hard it is. Most importantly, don't forget to enjoy this golden time which will never come again.
In the end, I really want to thank my teachers and all IHSM faculty staff who looked after us and provided their best in every possible way. I wish IHSM a more prosperous and glittering future. Today, I have accomplished my dream. Thank you IHSM.
